Legal Background & Public Interest Experience

Monique began her legal career as a Staff Attorney at the Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP), where she provided civil legal assistance to low-income Georgians. At GLSP, she represented clients in a range of matters, including family, probate, education, unemployment, and elder law—appearing in Superior, Juvenile, Probate, Magistrate, and administrative courts throughout the state.

Her early legal work was mission-driven, focused on expanding access to justice for underserved communities and helping individuals move forward during difficult life transitions.

In 2025, she transitioned to the field of Workers’ Compensation, where she continues to apply her litigation skills and service-first approach to advocate for employees navigating work-related injuries and complex claims processes.

Education

Attorney Monique Bandong earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law, where she developed a strong foundation in advocacy, litigation, and public service. During her time in law school, Monique gained practical legal experience through:

  • An internship with the Georgia State University Immigration Clinic, where she supported individuals navigating complex immigration issues, learning how to balance legal research with client communication and procedural advocacy.
  • Volunteer service with the Housing Court Assistance Center, a project of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where she helped tenants understand their legal rights and court procedures related to housing instability and eviction.

These experiences solidified Monique’s passion for direct client engagement and equipped her with the tools to serve vulnerable populations with empathy and legal precision.

Prior to law school, Monique graduated cum laude from Oglethorpe University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Comparative Literature. Her background in literature strengthened her ability to analyze complex texts, think critically, and communicate with clarity—skills that now support her legal writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom strategy.

Monique brings a results-driven, client-focused mindset to every case she handles. Her strength lies in building trust with clients, maintaining transparency throughout the legal process, and advocating firmly to protect their rights and well-being.
