COWETA COUNTY – Frederick R. Mann Jr of The Law Offices of Matthew C. Hines, LLC successfully resolved a Coweta County State court case yesterday afternoon.
The client, a Mexican national without current documentation, was charged with counts of:
- Driving without a Driver License and
- Failure to Yield Right of Way after an accident
on June 3 of this year.
The client had allegedly entered a stopped queue of vehicles waiting for a red light to change and tried to cross the lanes to get to an inside left turn lane. In the process she allegedly struck another vehicle that was approaching the light in the inside lane. No one was injured and the only property damage of note was to the defendant’s vehicle.
The client entered a plea of guilty to the license charge and a plea of no contest to the Failure to Yield.
A concurrent 12 month period of probation was the sentence plus fines and costs totaling over $1529. The client was ordered to pay restitution not covered by insurance and to perform 80 hours of community service as well.
