What Is Removal of Conditions?

A conditional green card is valid for two years when residency is based on:

  • Marriage less than two years old at the time of approval.
  • Certain investor or entrepreneur categories.

To keep residency, you must file Form I-751 (marriage-based) or Form I-829 (investment-based) during the 90-day window before expiration. Failure to file on time can result in loss of lawful status.
