Cherokee County State Court
Frederick R. Mann Jr of The Law Offices of Matthew C. Hines, LLC successfully resolved the case of a Canton man charged with Following Too Close and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. The defendant had allegedly struck the rear of another vehicle in Cherokee County and driven off without exchanging driver information or insurance policy info. His tag was traced and came back to a customer of the defendant who had left her Mercedes at his gas station for mechanical work.
The Mercedes was ultimately found at a body shop and the front end was seriously damaged. The tow driver said he had been contacted by the defendant to tow the Mercedes from a parking lot in the area.
The defendant entered a plea of no contest to Following Too Close and his insurance paid for complete repairs to the Mercedes. He was placed on 12 months probation and ordered to complete DUI court in conjunction with a DUI plea he entered on another case in an unrelated episode.
