Snellville Municipal Case

FREDERICK R. MANN JR. of THE LAW OFFICES OF MATTHEW C. HINES, LLC, ATLANTA successfully resolved the case of a Brazilian national (undocumented) who was charged on October 24th of this year with Shoplifting,
By plea negotiation yesterday with the City Solicitor. The charge was reduced to 2 counts of Disorderly Conduct under the City Ordinance, and the client was allowed to plead no contest in exchange for immediate payment of fines and costs totaling over $1300. No probation, jail, community service, or impulse control course was made a part of the negotiated sentence.


The client had previously agreed with ICE to take a voluntary departure back to Brazil by December 7, 2018.

About Attorney Frederick R. Mann Jr.


Mr. Mann served as a Federal prosecutor (Assistant US Attorney) in Miami for 6 years; as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami  (State prosecutor) for over 3 years; and as an Assistant Public Defender in Northwest Florida’s 14th Judicial Circuit, for almost 13 years. He was in private practice 16 years when not in government service.

Mr. Mann has been a Florida Bar Board Certified Criminal Trial Attorney since 1994 (24 years, continuously). Only about 3% of Florida lawyers are Board Certified in a specialty.
