Hall County Oakwood Municipal Court
Frederick R. Mann Jr of The Law Offices of Matthew C. Hines, LLC successfully resolved the case of a 53 year old poultry worker charged with shoplifting for allegedly leaving a Wal-Mart with a bottle of Coca-Cola worth $1.99.
The defendant was undocumented and had a history of seven prior arrests for shoplifting.
Case Results
Mr. Mann negotiated a plea whereby the defendant was placed on 12 months probation for the misdemeanor although the court said he felt inclined to move the case to State Court for a possibly more severe penalty.

Conditions of the probation imposed are no return to Wal-Mart, 180 days of house arrest (defendant may go to work and Church and the grocery, otherwise remain at home) and pay a $1000 fine and costs.
All other charges were dismissed (the defendant was charged with obstruction for allegedly running from the officer).
