Attorney Frederick R. Mann Jr. is a highly experienced criminal law attorney based in Atlanta, GA.
With over four decades of legal experience, Mr. Mann is a respected figure in both the legal field and the Atlanta community.
His legal journey began in 1978 when he was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia, while concurrently studying for the Florida State Bar Exam, which he passed on his first attempt in 1979.
Mr. Mann served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County under Janet Reno, gaining extensive courtroom experience in serious criminal law jury trials.
In 1982, he joined a Joint State-Federal Homicide Task Force, working closely with various defendants, including undocumented entrants and Cubans who arrived in the U.S. during the Mariel boatlift.
During his time as a federal prosecutor under the Honorable Stanley Marcus from 1982 to 1988, he handled numerous high-profile cases.
In 1988, Mr. Mann ran for Circuit Court, winning the primary but narrowly losing in a runoff race. He later entered private practice, achieving Florida Bar Board Certification as a Criminal Trial Attorney in 1994, 1999, and 2004.
Mr. Mann earned an AV rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Directory in 1994, the directory's highest possible rating.
He also served as an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Law in 2004 and worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Panama City, Florida, resolving over 7,000 cases.
In 2018, Mr. Mann and his family relocated to the Atlanta area, where he joined the team at Hines Law.
His academic achievements include being invited to participate in the University of Florida's Law Review and receiving the George Milam Award for the Best Case Comment in 1977.
He passed the Georgia Bar Exam early as an eighth-quarter law student, demonstrating his dedication and expertise.
As a third-generation Floridian, Mr. Mann has deep roots in the South and has a strong academic background, including graduating cum laude from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Spanish.
His international studies in Mexico, Spain, and Germany enriched his cultural knowledge and language skills.
